The collection consists of one ms. poem, titled Lines to Flavel's cat, Ardmore, Pa., 13 May 1884, signed Ever yours Robt. J. Burdette. The poem is in two stanzas of six lines each; the first stanza praises the cat's quieter moments, while the second stanza threatens to answer the cat's late-night carousing with a load of buckshot.
